Acceptable Quality with Documentation Delay Resolved
Ordered 10 tons of Grade B shipbuilding plates (12mm thickness, 2000mm width) for our jack-up rig maintenance project. Material quality was acceptable and met BV classification requirements. However, Mill Test Certificates were delayed by 5 days after material arrival, causing some project scheduling issues. Supplier expedited courier delivery of documents and provided digital copies within 24 hours once we escalated. Mechanical properties were within specification. Reliable FH40 Material for Arctic Service Vessels
Purchased 14 tons of FH40 high-strength plates (18mm thickness) for our Arctic service vessel retrofit project. Impact test results showed 52J at -40°C, meeting our harsh environment requirements. Compared quotes from 5 different suppliers and this offered best value. Surface had some minor rust spots upon arrival after 28-day transit, but easily removed with wire brushing. Material performance in fabrication has been solid. Would recommend for projects where slight cosmetic issues are acceptable.
