Initial coating inconsistency flagged — supplier resolved promptly

We ordered 75 tonnes of hot-dip galvanized ERW pipe, OD 48.3 mm, wall 3.2 mm, ASTM A53 Gr.B, for a residential compound project in Dubai. On arrival, our QC team found approximately 12% of pipes in one bundle had galvanizing below the 85 µm minimum — some readings were around 72–78 µm. We raised a formal NCR with photos. The supplier acknowledged the issue within 24 hours, arranged replacement pipes for the affected bundle at no additional cost, and shipped within 10 days. The replacement batch passed our inspection. The resolution was handled professionally; we are willing to order again with an agreed pre-shipment inspection clause.

Competitive bulk pricing, delivery window slightly wider than expected

Sourced 210 tonnes of ERW pipe, OD 114.3 mm, wall 6.0 mm, ASTM A53 Gr.B, black finish, for fire suppression system risers across a multi-building campus project in Ohio. Hydrostatic test results and dimensional reports were accurate and well-organized. Pricing for this volume was the best we found after contacting five suppliers. Delivery quoted at 20 days ran to 25 days due to port congestion — not ideal but the supplier communicated proactively and we adjusted our installation schedule with enough notice. Quality on arrival was good; no issues with the weld seam or coating.

Good value on EN 10219 rectangular hollow sections, minor paperwork delay

Ordered 60 tonnes of rectangular hollow sections, 150×100×6 mm, EN 10219 S355J2H, for structural framing on a logistics warehouse near Frankfurt. Pipe dimensions and weld quality were fully compliant on arrival. Price per tonne was competitive versus European distributors — roughly 8% savings. The only issue was a two-day delay in receiving the CE declaration document, which held up our site inspection sign-off briefly. The supplier resolved it quickly once we flagged it. Overall a solid transaction; we have issued a follow-up RFQ for square hollow sections.
