We ordered 75 tonnes of hot-dip galvanized ERW pipe, OD 48.3 mm, wall 3.2 mm, ASTM A53 Gr.B, for a residential compound project in Dubai. On arrival, our QC team found approximately 12% of pipes in one bundle had galvanizing below the 85 µm minimum — some readings were around 72–78 µm. We raised a formal NCR with photos. The supplier acknowledged the issue within 24 hours, arranged replacement pipes for the affected bundle at no additional cost, and shipped within 10 days. The replacement batch passed our inspection. The resolution was handled professionally; we are willing to order again with an agreed pre-shipment inspection clause.
