Acceptable Non-Standard Tubes – Dimensional Issue Resolved After Inspection
We ordered 5 tons of non-standard hexagonal steel tubes in 20# grade for a specialized mechanical parts project. Most of the order met spec, but approximately 0.4 tons in one bundle showed WT variation exceeding the agreed ±5% tolerance on one flat face. We raised this with the supplier along with our caliper measurement records. They reviewed the inspection data and issued a replacement for the out-of-spec portion within the next production run, shipped at no additional freight cost. Resolution took about 12 working days. The corrected material was within tolerance. Process needs tightening on profiled sections, but the after-sales handling was reasonable.

Reliable Custom Steel Tubes – Good Quality, Slightly Long Lead Time
Ordered 7 tons of non-standard seamless tubes in ASTM A519 1026 grade, OD 101.6mm, WT 12.5mm for mechanical bearing sleeve components. Dimensional accuracy was very good – OD measured at 101.58mm average across 20 sample pieces, well within the ±0.1mm cold-drawn tolerance. MTC included hardness values and full chemistry. Lead time came in at 27 working days versus the 22 initially estimated, due to raw material scheduling as explained by the team. The delay was communicated proactively, which we appreciated. Quality of the product itself fully met our machining requirements. Would recommend for buyers with some schedule flexibility.

Excellent 316L Non-Standard Tubes for Marine Exhaust System
Sourced 3 tons of non-standard 316L stainless steel tubes, OD 88.9mm with 5.8mm WT, in 6,000mm cut lengths for a marine exhaust and cooling system refit. This specific OD/WT combination was unavailable from any Australian distributor. The supplier confirmed production feasibility within 24 hours and provided a quotation the same day.
