Acceptable S355J0WP Material but Documentation Took Extra Time
Placed a 6-ton trial order of S355J0WP corten coil in 4mm thickness to evaluate for a new architectural cladding client in Singapore. The steel itself tested fine — yield strength 361 MPa, elongation 21%, impact 29J at 0°C, all meeting EN 10025-5. Our issue was with documentation: the initial 3.1 certificate issued had an incorrect heat number cross-reference, which our client's inspector flagged. It took four business days to get a corrected certificate issued, which delayed our delivery to the end customer by nearly a week. The supplier did resolve it without argument once escalated to their quality team. Material performance is not in question, but the admin process needs tightening before we can commit to larger regular volumes.

We sourced 14 tons of S355J0WP in 6mm and 8mm for railway wagon body panels destined for a freight operator in São Paulo state.
