Initial batch had instar sorting inconsistency — resolved satisfactorily
Our first 200 kg order of mixed BSFL included a noticeable proportion of fourth-instar larvae mixed into what was specified as a sixth-instar lot — roughly 15% by visual estimate. For our poultry feed application, the size inconsistency affected pellet binding in our initial trial run. I raised the issue with their technical team, who responded within 24 hours, arranged a replacement partial shipment of correctly staged larvae at no additional cost, and updated our account notes for future orders. The replacement lot was correct. Protein specs on the dried component were fine at 40.5% DM. Cautiously optimistic for our next order.
