Initial moisture issue flagged and resolved — now satisfied with the product
Our first 600 kg order of organic mealworm meal arrived with moisture content at 9.8% DM, outside the ≤8% specification stated in the product sheet. This was a concern for our pelleting process and shelf-life calculations under NOP-compliant storage protocols. We raised the issue immediately; the supplier responded within 24 hours, arranged a partial replacement shipment, and updated their pre-dispatch moisture testing protocol. The replacement batch tested at 7.2% DM — fully within spec. Crude protein and amino acid values were accurate throughout. Issue was handled professionally. We've since placed a second order and will continue evaluating.
