| Larvae Species | Hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly) | Primary larvae species used; alternatively Tenebrio molitor may be specified |
| Calcium Content | ≥8.0% (dry weight basis) | Enhanced calcium level achieved through calcium-enriched substrate feeding during larvae rearing stage |
| Crude Protein Content | 42%–48% (dry weight basis) | Total nitrogen × 6.25; verified by Kjeldahl method per AOAC 2001.11 |
| Crude Fat Content | 12%–18% (dry weight basis) | Ether extract method; fat profile includes lauric acid and linoleic acid fractions |
| Moisture Content | ≤8.0% | Measured by oven-drying at 105°C for 4 hours per ISO 6496 standard |
| Ash Content | ≤15.0% (dry weight basis) | Inorganic mineral residue after combustion at 550°C; reflects mineral-rich substrate influence |
| Phosphorus Content | 0.6%–1.2% (dry weight basis) | Ca:P ratio maintained at approximately 6:1–8:1 to support bone metabolism in target animals |
| Particle Size / Form | Whole dried larvae: 10–20 mm length; Powder: ≤500 μm | Available in whole, crushed, or milled powder form depending on application requirement |
| Bulk Density | 350–450 g/L | Measured per ISO 60; affects volumetric dosing in automated pet food production lines |

| Heavy Metal Limits | Pb ≤2.0 mg/kg; Cd ≤0.5 mg/kg; As ≤2.0 mg/kg; Hg ≤0.1 mg/kg | Tested per ICP-MS method; meets EU feed additive safety thresholds under Directive 2002/32/EC |
| Manufacturing Environment | GMP-certified facility; HACCP system implemented | Production under controlled temperature (22–26°C) and humidity (50%–65% RH) conditions |
| Packaging Specification | Inner: food-grade PE bag; Outer: kraft paper bag; Net weight: 10 kg or 25 kg/bag | Vacuum-sealed inner packaging available upon request to extend shelf life and prevent oxidation |
| Storage Conditions | Temperature ≤25°C; Relative Humidity ≤60%; away from direct sunlight | Store in dry, ventilated warehouse; avoid co-storage with toxic chemicals or strong-odor substances |
| Shelf Life | 18 months (sealed, under recommended storage conditions) | 12 months recommended after opening; re-seal tightly after each use |
| Application Scenarios | Reptile feed, ornamental bird diet, hedgehog & sugar glider nutrition, aquaculture supplement | Used as primary protein-calcium source or as functional additive in compound pet food formulations |
| Compliance & Certification | ISO 22000; EU PAP Regulation (EC) No 999/2001; CITES non-listed species | Export documentation includes phytosanitary certificate and certificate of analysis (COA) per batch |
| Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) | 500 kg per order | Mixed SKU orders (whole/powder) accepted above MOQ threshold; sample orders (1–5 kg) available |
| Monthly Supply Capacity | 80,000 kg/month | Scalable to 150,000 kg/month with 45-day advance scheduling; stable year-round supply guaranteed |
Our first 400kg order of BSFL fine meal arrived with moisture at 9.2% in one pallet — slightly above the ≤8% spec. I raised this immediately and the supplier responded within 6 hours, issued a replacement shipment for the affected lot within 10 days, and provided a revised storage protocol for our Arizona climate conditions. Subsequent batch tested at 7.4% moisture, protein 51% DM, calcium 7,100 mg/kg — all on spec. The issue was handled professionally and the technical team's follow-up was thorough. We've since placed a 1MT follow-on order with confidence.
