Initial Shipping Delay Resolved — Product Quality Was Fine
Ordered 60 tons of ASTM A36 square steel, 32mm × 32mm × 9m custom lengths, for a client's commercial construction project in California. The product itself was good — tensile at 445 MPa, clean mill finish, accurate MTCs. However, our shipment was delayed by 10 days beyond the original 20-day lead time due to a booking issue with the shipping line. It caused scheduling problems on our end. To their credit, the sales manager escalated immediately, arranged partial air freight for the most urgent 8 tons at no extra cost, and the remainder followed by sea. Issue resolved, but communication about the delay could have come sooner.
