Ordered 35 tonnes of UPN 160 in S355JR for a structural steel subcontract in Michigan. The channel profiles themselves met spec — MTC confirmed yield strength at 361 MPa, EN 10025-2 compliant, and our shop found no dimensional issues during layout. However, roughly 8% of the bundle had surface rust beyond what EN 10163-3 Class C should permit, apparently due to inadequate waterproofing during ocean transit. I raised this immediately and the supplier responded within 4 hours, issued a partial credit for remediation costs, and confirmed updated packing instructions for future orders. Quality of the steel itself was not in question — just the transit packaging. Cautiously optimistic for next order.
