Ordered 12 tons of A36 flat steel in 500×20mm for heavy base plate fabrication. Upon arrival, our QC team measured width deviations of +1.8mm on approximately 15% of bars — outside our project tolerance of ±1.0mm. We raised the issue immediately with the supplier's technical team. To their credit, they responded within 24 hours, acknowledged the batch variation, and arranged a partial replacement shipment within 10 days at no additional cost. Final material passed all ASTM A36 mechanical requirements. The issue was resolved professionally, but we'd expect tighter QC at dispatch going forward. Rating reflects the experience holistically.
