Our first order of 20 tonnes of 200×25mm hot-rolled flat bars showed heavier mill scale on approximately 15% of pieces than our technical specification permitted for a downstream coating process. We raised a formal non-conformance report with photos. The supplier's quality team responded within 48 hours, acknowledged the issue, and arranged a partial replacement shipment of the affected quantity with pickled and oiled surface finish at no additional charge. The replacement material met our spec. The problem itself was frustrating, but the after-sales response was professional and the final material passed our incoming inspection. We are cautiously continuing the relationship.
