| Standard Compliance | ASTM A6 / EN 10034 / JIS G3192 / GB/T 706 | Meets dimensional and mechanical requirements per international structural steel standards |
| Chemical Composition (C) | ≤ 0.26% (A36) / ≤ 0.23% (S355JR) | Carbon content controls hardness and weldability |
| Chemical Composition (Mn) | ≤ 1.60% (A36) / ≤ 1.70% (S355JR) | Manganese enhances strength and toughness |
| Chemical Composition (P / S) | P ≤ 0.04% / S ≤ 0.05% | Low phosphorus and sulfur improve ductility and reduce brittleness |
| Chemical Composition (Si) | ≤ 0.40% (S355JR) / ≤ 0.40% (Q355B) | Silicon acts as deoxidizer and improves strength |
| Tensile Strength | 400–550 MPa (A36: 400–550 MPa; S355JR: 470–630 MPa) | Per ASTM A36 and EN 10025-2; ensures load-bearing capacity under structural loads |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 250 MPa (A36) / ≥ 355 MPa (S355JR) / ≥ 235 MPa (Q235B) | Minimum yield strength defining elastic limit for structural design calculations |
| Elongation | ≥ 20% (A36) / ≥ 22% (S235JR) / ≥ 20% (S355JR) | Measured on 200 mm gauge length; indicates ductility and energy absorption capacity |
| Beam Height (h) | 100 mm – 900 mm | Standard I-beam depths covering light to heavy structural applications |
| Flange Width (b) | 50 mm – 300 mm | Wider flanges provide greater lateral stability and bending resistance |
| Length | 6 m – 18 m (custom lengths available) | Standard mill lengths; cut-to-length service available upon request |
| Surface Finish | Hot-rolled mill scale / Shot blasted / Primer coated | Mill scale as standard; shot blasting (Sa 2.5) and primer coating available for corrosion protection |
| Application | Building frames, floor beams, columns, bridges, industrial structures | Widely used in commercial, residential, and industrial construction as primary load-bearing members |
| Certification | ISO 9001:2015 / CE Marking / Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1) | Third-party inspection and material traceability documentation available |
| Packaging | Bundle with steel strapping; wooden dunnage protection | Bundled in 2–5 MT per bundle; seaworthy export packing available for international shipment |
| MOQ | 25 MT per grade/size | Mixed sizes accepted within same grade; smaller trial orders negotiable |
Ordered 75 tons of IPE 270 in S275JR for a school extension project in Leeds. On arrival, the outer layer of two bundles showed light surface rust beyond what we consider acceptable for a painted structure, likely from inadequate wrapping during sea transit. We raised a formal NCR with photos within 24 hours. The supplier accepted liability, arranged replacement beams from a regional stockholder within five working days, and issued a credit note for the inspection cost. The replacement material was in good condition and the project schedule was only marginally affected. Quality of the unaffected beams was fine. Communication during the resolution was professional — I would trial them again with tighter packaging instructions specified upfront.
