Initial width tolerance issue – fully resolved and redelivered
We ordered 30 tonnes of S355JR plates at 1,800 mm width and 25 mm thickness for raft foundation reinforcement in Manchester. On arrival, approximately 12 plates measured 1,812 mm width, outside the EN 10029 tolerance band we specified. We raised the non-conformance immediately. To their credit, the supplier acknowledged the issue within 24 hours, arranged collection, and delivered replacement plates within eight working days at no additional cost. The replacement batch was fully compliant. Quality control on the first batch should have caught this, but the after-sales response was professional. We are cautiously open to ordering again.
