| Product Name | Carbon Steel Pipe for Construction Applications | Structural and load-bearing steel pipes used in building, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects |
| Material Grade | ASTM A53 Gr.B / A106 Gr.B / EN 10210 S355J2H / GB/T 8162 20# | International equivalent grades: S355J2H (EN) ≈ A53 Gr.B (ASTM); 20# (GB) ≈ ASTM A106 Gr.B |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A53 / ASTM A106 / EN 10210 / EN 10219 / GB/T 8162 / JIS G3444 | Meets major international standards for structural and mechanical carbon steel pipes |
| Chemical Composition (C) | ≤ 0.30% | Carbon content controls hardness and weldability; lower C improves field welding performance |
| Chemical Composition (Mn) | 0.29% – 1.06% | Manganese enhances tensile strength and toughness in structural applications |
| Chemical Composition (P / S) | P ≤ 0.035% / S ≤ 0.035% | Controlled phosphorus and sulfur levels ensure ductility and reduce brittleness |
| Chemical Composition (Si) | ≤ 0.35% | Silicon acts as a deoxidizer; improves strength without significantly reducing ductility |
| Tensile Strength | 415 – 655 MPa (ASTM A53 Gr.B) | Minimum tensile strength 415 MPa per ASTM A53; EN 10210 S355J2H min. 470 MPa |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 240 MPa (A53 Gr.B) / ≥ 355 MPa (S355J2H) | Yield strength varies by grade; S355J2H preferred for high-load structural columns and frames |
| Elongation | ≥ 22% (longitudinal, A53 Gr.B) | Ensures sufficient ductility for seismic and dynamic construction environments |
| Outer Diameter (OD) | 21.3 mm – 660 mm | Wide OD range covers scaffolding tubes (48.3 mm), structural columns, piling, and truss members |
| Wall Thickness | 2.0 mm – 40.0 mm | Schedule 20 to Schedule XXS available; heavy wall for high-load bearing applications |
| Length | 6 m / 12 m or custom cut | Standard mill lengths; random or fixed lengths available per project specification |
| Surface Finish | Black varnished / Hot-dip galvanized / Bare / Epoxy coated | Galvanized finish (85 μm min.) for outdoor and corrosive environments; black for interior structural use |
| Application | Structural columns, scaffolding, piling, trusses, bridges, formwork supports | Widely used in residential, commercial, and civil construction for load-bearing and framing purposes |
| Certification | ISO 9001 / CE Marking / Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2) | Third-party inspection available; MTC traceable to heat number and chemical analysis |
| Packaging | Bundled in hexagonal or square bundles; steel strapping; end caps fitted | Bundle weight typically 2–3 MT; wooden dunnage for sea freight; bare or wrapped per buyer requirement |
| MOQ | 25 MT per size/grade | Mixed container orders accepted; FOB, CFR, CIF terms available; lead time 15–30 days |
We ordered 8 tons of ASTM A106 Gr. B seamless pipe in 2-inch SCH 80 for mechanical services on a commercial building project in Brisbane. On arrival, approximately 15% of the pipe lengths measured slightly outside the stated wall thickness tolerance per ASTM A106 — closer to the lower end. We raised this with the account manager and provided measurement records. The supplier acknowledged the variance, arranged a replacement batch within 14 business days, and covered the additional freight cost. The replacement material was fully compliant. Situation was handled professionally, but the initial QC miss cost us schedule time.
