We ordered 10 tons of 1.5-inch galvanized ERW pipes for conduit runs in a Florida commercial building project. During incoming QC, our inspector found zinc coating thickness on roughly 8% of pipes measured below 45 µm — below our ASTM A123 requirement. We raised a formal NCR with photos and measurement records. The supplier responded within 12 hours, acknowledged the issue, and arranged replacement of the affected quantity at no additional cost within 10 days. Final replacement batch met spec. Issue appears isolated. Willing to trial again on a smaller order before committing to larger volumes.
