Ordered 10 tons of 4-inch galvanized pipe (SCH 40, beveled ends) for an industrial water distribution retrofit in Alberta. Most of the shipment met spec, but our incoming inspection flagged three bundles where zinc coating weight measured at 287–295 g/m², slightly below the 300 g/m² ASTM A123 minimum. We raised this with the supplier and they responded within two business days, providing a re-inspection report and offering a partial replacement on the next order to compensate. The issue was handled professionally and the affected quantity was small relative to the total order. Mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy on all pieces were fine. We will trial another order to assess whether coating consistency has improved.
