Ordered 600 km of G.654E fiber for a coherent transmission pilot. Fiber performance itself was good — attenuation at 1550 nm measured 0.158–0.162 dB/km, PMD coefficient below 0.04 ps/√km, cable cut-off wavelength confirmed ≤1530 nm per ITU-T G.654E. However, approximately 8% of reels arrived with incorrect reel length markings on the drum labels, which caused confusion during our inventory intake. I raised the issue immediately and the supplier's quality team investigated, issued corrected documentation within 48 hours, and offered a partial credit on the affected reels. The response was professional and the problem has reportedly been corrected in their labeling process. Fiber quality itself meets spec — the issue was administrative, not technical.
