Ordered 35 tons of SMP prepainted coil, 0.55mm, 1,100mm width, RAL 8017 for industrial cladding panels. On inspection, two coils from the batch showed a visible color shift compared to the remaining eight — ΔE measured at approximately 2.1, outside the ≤1.5 tolerance spec. Raised the issue with the technical team immediately; they acknowledged the variance, provided a revised mill report, and arranged replacement coils within 18 days along with partial credit on the affected material. The replacement coils measured ΔE at 1.0. Mechanical properties and zinc coating weight on all coils were within spec throughout. Issue handling was professional, which is why we will consider reordering, but stricter batch QC before shipment would prevent this situation.
