Acceptable PPGI Coils — Surface Marking Issue Resolved After Claim
Ordered 20 tons of PPGI coils, 0.3mm thickness, 800mm width, PE coating, RAL 1015 light ivory for re-export to a Southeast Asian buyer. Upon inspection at our Singapore warehouse, we identified minor surface roller marks on approximately 15% of one coil — visible under direct light but not affecting paint adhesion or mechanical properties. Submitted a photographic claim within 48 hours of receipt. Supplier responded within one business day, reviewed the photos, and agreed to a partial credit of 3% on the affected coil weight. Resolution was fair and handled professionally. MTCs and other coils in the shipment were fully compliant. We would consider reordering for non-critical surface applications, but will request pre-shipment SGS inspection for future orders involving cosmetic-grade surface requirements.
