On our first order of 10 tonnes of hot-rolled round bars in 90 mm diameter to ASTM A36, our incoming inspection found that roughly 5% of bars measured 89.3 mm — just outside our acceptable tolerance window. We raised the issue immediately. The supplier's technical team responded within 24 hours, acknowledged the variance, and arranged a partial replacement shipment at no additional freight cost within 12 days. MTC data for the replacement batch was clean. Communication throughout was professional. We have since placed a second, larger order and quality has been fully satisfactory.
