| Chemical Composition (C) | ≤ 0.30% | Carbon content controlled to ensure weldability and ductility |
| Chemical Composition (Mn) | 0.60% – 1.60% | Manganese enhances strength and hardenability |
| Chemical Composition (P / S) | P ≤ 0.045% / S ≤ 0.045% | Low phosphorus and sulfur for improved toughness and reduced brittleness |
| Chemical Composition (Si) | 0.10% – 0.80% | Silicon acts as deoxidizer and contributes to strength |
| Tensile Strength | ≥ 600 MPa (Gr.60) / ≥ 630 MPa (HRB500) | Per ASTM A615 Gr.60 and GB/T 1499.2 HRB500; higher grades available up to 800 MPa |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 420 MPa (Gr.60) / ≥ 500 MPa (HRB500) | Minimum yield strength per respective standards; ensures structural load-bearing capacity |
| Elongation | ≥ 9% – 14% | Minimum elongation at fracture; varies by grade and standard (e.g., ≥9% per ASTM A615 Gr.60) |
| Bar Diameter Range | 6 mm – 50 mm | Common sizes: 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 mm; custom sizes available on request |

We ordered 220 tons of Grade 75 #6 bars for a tunnel lining project in Nevada. Most heats were fine — yield 520–535 MPa, tensile 695–710 MPa. However, one heat showed elongation at 6.8% on the 8-inch gauge, just below the 7% ASTM A615 minimum. We raised this immediately. The supplier acknowledged the non-conformance within 24 hours, issued a replacement heat at no additional cost, and expedited shipping covered the schedule gap. The resolution was handled professionally. We've since placed a smaller follow-up order and quality was fully on spec. A better incoming QC check would prevent this.
