| Property | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Product Name | Steel Reinforcement Bars for Road Construction | Deformed and plain steel rebar used in road base, pavement slabs, bridges, and highway infrastructure |
| Material Grade | Grade 60 / HRB400 / B500B / SD390 | International equivalents: ASTM A615 Gr.60, GB/T 1499.2 HRB400, EN 10080 B500B, JIS G3112 SD390 |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A615 / A706, GB/T 1499.2, EN 10080, JIS G3112, BS 4449 | Meets major international standards for structural and road reinforcement applications |
| Chemical Composition – Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.30% | Controls hardness and weldability; lower C improves ductility for seismic and road load conditions |
| Chemical Composition – Manganese (Mn) | 0.60% – 1.60% | Enhances tensile strength and hardenability of the rebar |
| Chemical Composition – Phosphorus (P) | ≤ 0.045% | Kept low to prevent brittleness and cold-shortness |
| Chemical Composition – Sulfur (S) | ≤ 0.045% | Minimized to avoid hot-shortness and reduce inclusion defects |
| Chemical Composition – Silicon (Si) | 0.17% – 0.80% | Acts as deoxidizer; improves strength and corrosion resistance |
| Tensile Strength | ≥ 600 MPa (Gr.60 / HRB400) | Per ASTM A615: min. 90 ksi (620 MPa); per GB/T 1499.2 HRB400: min. 540 MPa |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 400 MPa – 520 MPa | ASTM A615 Gr.60: min. 60 ksi (420 MPa); HRB400: min. 400 MPa; B500B: min. 500 MPa |
| Elongation | ≥ 9% – 16% | Minimum elongation at fracture; higher values ensure ductility under dynamic road loads |
| Diameter Range | 6 mm – 50 mm (No.3 – No.18) | Common road construction sizes: Ø8, Ø10, Ø12, Ø16, Ø20, Ø25, Ø32 mm |
| Length | 6 m, 9 m, 12 m (custom available) | Standard mill lengths; cut-to-length service available per project specification |
| Surface Finish | Deformed (ribbed) / Plain round | Deformed bars with transverse ribs for superior concrete bond; plain bars for specific slab applications |
| Application | Road pavements, highway bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, drainage structures | Suitable for reinforced concrete road slabs, median barriers, culverts, and foundation works |
| Certification | ISO 9001, CE Marking, Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 | Third-party inspection available; certificates traceable to heat and lot number |
| Packaging | Bundled in 2–5 MT bundles, steel-strapped | Bundles tagged with grade, heat number, and standard; seaworthy export packing available |
| MOQ | 25 MT per size/grade | Mixed container orders accepted; bulk project quantities negotiable with mill-direct pricing |
Ordered 75 tonnes of 16mm HRB400 rebar for a rural road drainage project. The rebar itself met our mechanical requirements — yield strength at 415 MPa, elongation at 16.8%, and rib profile within tolerance. However, the initial MTR batch was missing the chemical composition breakdown for sulphur and phosphorus content, which our project QA engineer flagged immediately. We raised this with the support team and the corrected, complete documentation was issued within two business days. Product quality was not in question, just an administrative oversight. Issue handled professionally. Would consider ordering again with clearer upfront documentation checklist.
