We ordered 50 tons of 19 mm ASTM A615 Grade 60 rebar for a commercial slab project in Atlanta. The bars themselves tested correctly – yield at 430 MPa, elongation at 10% – and concrete bond performance on site has been good. However, the initial shipment documentation included MTRs referencing a different heat number than the bundles received, which flagged in our QC review and stalled acceptance for three days. After escalating, the supplier issued corrected documentation within 24 hours and clarified the administrative error. Issue fully resolved, but it added stress to our schedule. Quality control on paperwork should match the material quality.
