Quality fine, but initial paperwork gap caused site hold-up — issue now fully resolved
We ordered 50 tonnes of #5 (15.9 mm) rebar to BS 4449 Grade B500B for a retaining wall scheme in Manchester. The steel itself met spec — cross-sectional area 200 mm², yield strength compliant — and the 9 m cut lengths were accurate. However, the EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate was missing from the first shipment, which caused a two-day hold while our structural engineer waited for documentation. After escalating to the technical team, the full certificate pack was emailed within hours and a hard copy followed by courier. The supplier acknowledged the process gap and confirmed a documentation checklist is now in place. Satisfied with how it was handled and open to reordering.
