Our first order of 180 MT of ASTM A615 Grade 60 #5 and #8 bars arrived with moderate surface rust on the outermost bundles, likely from extended port storage during transit delays. We raised the issue immediately. The supplier's QC team reviewed our photos within 12 hours, confirmed the rust was superficial and within ASTM permissible limits, and provided a written technical clarification for our project engineer. They also arranged additional protective wrapping at no cost for our follow-up order. The rebar itself tested fine — yield 431 MPa, elongation 10.1%. Issue handled professionally; will reorder with improved packaging agreed.
