We ordered 20 metric tons of ASTM A500 Grade B seamless pipe, OD 219.1 mm, wall thickness 12.7 mm, for a commercial building column application in Dubai. The pipe dimensions and mechanical properties — yield 318 MPa, tensile 408 MPa — were fully compliant. However, the initial shipment documentation was missing the BV third-party inspection certificate, which caused a hold at Dubai customs for four days. After escalating to the sales manager, the certificate was emailed within two hours and the physical copy arrived by courier the following day. The issue was resolved and the pipe passed inspection without any quality findings. Would recommend, but advise confirming all documentation checklist before vessel departure.
