| Property | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Product Name | Steel Plates for High Rise Construction | Structural steel plates engineered for multi-story and skyscraper building frameworks |
| Material Grade | ASTM A572 Gr.50 / Q345B / S355JR / SM490 | High-strength low-alloy (HSLA) structural steel; international equivalents across ASTM, GB, EN, JIS standards |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A572 / EN 10025-2 / GB/T 1591 / JIS G3106 | Meets major international structural steel standards for building construction applications |
| Chemical Composition (C) | ≤ 0.23% | Low carbon content ensures good weldability and toughness for structural joints |
| Chemical Composition (Mn) | 0.80% – 1.60% | Manganese enhances strength and hardenability of the plate |
| Chemical Composition (Si) | ≤ 0.45% | Silicon acts as a deoxidizer and contributes to strength |
| Chemical Composition (P / S) | P ≤ 0.035% / S ≤ 0.035% | Controlled phosphorus and sulfur levels minimize brittleness and improve ductility |
| Tensile Strength | 450 – 620 MPa | Per ASTM A572 Gr.50 / EN S355; ensures structural integrity under high vertical and lateral loads |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 345 MPa (50 ksi) | Minimum yield strength per ASTM A572 Gr.50 / Q345B / S355JR for load-bearing columns and beams |
| Elongation | ≥ 20% (in 200 mm gauge length) | High elongation provides ductility and energy absorption during seismic events |
| Thickness Range | 6 mm – 150 mm | Wide thickness range accommodates core walls, transfer plates, and floor diaphragms |
| Width Range | 1,000 mm – 4,500 mm | Available in standard and custom widths to suit structural fabrication requirements |
| Length Range | 3,000 mm – 18,000 mm | Custom cut-to-length service available; standard mill lengths supplied |
| Surface Finish | Hot-rolled, shot-blasted (Sa 2.5), primer-coated optional | Mill scale removed; surface prepared for welding, painting, or fireproofing coatings |
| Application | Structural columns, shear walls, transfer beams, core walls, floor plates | Designed for high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use building construction |
| Certification | ISO 9001:2015, CE Marking, Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1/3.2) | Full traceability with third-party inspection available (SGS, BV, TÜV) |
| Packaging | Bundle with steel strapping; wooden dunnage; seaworthy export packing | Rust-preventive oil applied; suitable for container or bulk vessel shipment |
| MOQ | 5 Metric Tons per grade/thickness | Mixed specifications accepted; spot stock and mill order both available |
We ordered 75 tonnes of ASTM A572 Grade 50 plates at 3,800 mm width and 45 mm thickness for transfer plate applications. On arrival, roughly 12% of the plates showed width deviations slightly outside EN 10029 Class A tolerance, which required additional shop trimming and delayed our fabrication by four days. I raised the issue with the supplier and received a prompt response — they provided a credit for the rework costs and committed to tighter pre-shipment dimensional checks on future orders. The mechanical properties on the MTRs were fully correct throughout. Issue was handled professionally and I would consider ordering again.
