Initial surface finish issue on galvanized tubes — resolved satisfactorily
Ordered 45 tons of hot-dip galvanized round steel tubes, 76.1mm OD x 4mm wall, AS/NZS 1163 equivalent grade, for outdoor structural framing in Queensland. On arrival, roughly 8% of the tubes in one bundle showed uneven zinc coating thickness below the 85 micron minimum we specified. Raised the issue with the supplier immediately — they responded within 24 hours, accepted the quality claim, and arranged a partial credit plus priority replacement shipment for the affected quantity, which arrived within 15 days. Issue was handled professionally. Will give them another chance on the next order.
