| Product Name | Corrosion Resistant Steel Plates for Outdoor Use | Weathering and anti-corrosion structural steel plates designed for long-term outdoor exposure |
| Material Grade | Corten A / Corten B / S355J2W / S235J0W / A588 Gr.A / Q355NH | International equivalents: ASTM A588 ≈ EN 10025-5 S355J2W ≈ GB/T 4171 Q355NH; suitable for atmospheric corrosion resistance |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A588 / ASTM A242 / EN 10025-5 / GB/T 4171 / JIS G3114 | Meets major international weathering steel standards for structural and outdoor applications |
| Chemical Composition – C | ≤ 0.19% | Low carbon content ensures good weldability and toughness |
| Chemical Composition – Mn | 0.80% – 1.25% | Manganese improves strength and hardenability |
| Chemical Composition – Si | 0.30% – 0.65% | Silicon enhances oxidation resistance and strength |
| Chemical Composition – Cr + Cu + Ni | Cr: 0.40–0.65%, Cu: 0.25–0.40%, Ni: ≤ 0.65% | Alloying elements form a dense protective rust layer (patina) that inhibits further corrosion |
| Chemical Composition – P / S | P ≤ 0.035%, S ≤ 0.030% | Controlled impurity levels to maintain toughness and corrosion resistance |
| Tensile Strength | 485 – 620 MPa (per ASTM A588) | High tensile strength suitable for structural outdoor frameworks, bridges, and facades |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 345 MPa (for t ≤ 100 mm, per ASTM A588 / EN S355J2W) | Minimum yield strength ensures structural integrity under load-bearing outdoor conditions |
| Elongation | ≥ 18% (in 200 mm gauge length) | Good ductility allows forming and fabrication without cracking |
| Thickness Range | 3 mm – 150 mm | Wide thickness range covers thin decorative cladding to heavy structural plates |
| Width × Length | Width: 1000 – 4200 mm; Length: 2000 – 18000 mm | Custom cutting available; standard mill sizes supplied per order requirement |
| Surface Finish | Hot-rolled (HR), Pickled & Oiled (P&O), Sandblasted (Sa 2.5), Natural Weathered Patina | Surface treatment selected based on aesthetic or anti-corrosion performance requirements |
| Application | Bridges, building facades, highway guardrails, sculptures, outdoor structures, container bodies | Ideal for environments with alternating wet/dry cycles where self-protecting patina can form |
| Certification | ISO 9001, Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2), CE Marking | Full traceability documentation provided; third-party inspection available upon request |
| Packaging | Bundled with steel strips; wooden pallet or bare bundle; waterproof paper wrapping optional | Export-standard packaging to prevent mechanical damage and moisture during sea/land transport |
| MOQ | 5 Metric Tons per grade/size | Mixed specifications accepted; smaller trial orders negotiable for new customers |
We sourced 14 tons of S355J0WP plates, 15 mm thick, for utility structures in Abu Dhabi. The plates themselves were good — tensile strength at 498 MPa, elongation above 21%, copper content confirmed within the 0.25–0.40% range. However, the initial shipment arrived with MTRs that referenced an incorrect heat number, which flagged in our QA review and caused a two-day hold. The supplier corrected and reissued the full documentation within 12 hours once we escalated. Issue resolved, but it added unnecessary administrative burden. We've since placed a follow-up order and the documentation was flawless. Rating reflects the initial hiccup, not the product.
