| Product Name | Steel Plates for Shipbuilding and Construction | High-strength structural steel plates designed for marine and civil engineering applications |
| Material Grade | AH36 / DH36 / EH36 / A131 / S355J2 / Q345B / ASTM A36 | International equivalent grades: AH36 ≈ S355G7+N (EN); DH36 ≈ S355G8+N; EH36 ≈ S355G9+N |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A131 / EN 10025-2 / GB/T 712 / JIS G3106 / LR / DNV / ABS / BV / CCS | Compliant with major classification society rules and international structural steel standards |
| Chemical Composition (C) | ≤ 0.18% | Low carbon content ensures good weldability and toughness for shipbuilding use |
| Chemical Composition (Mn) | 0.90% – 1.60% | Manganese enhances strength and hardenability of the steel plate |
| Chemical Composition (Si / P / S) | Si ≤ 0.50%; P ≤ 0.035%; S ≤ 0.035% | Controlled impurity levels to meet classification society and structural requirements |
| Tensile Strength | 490 – 620 MPa (AH36/DH36/EH36 per ASTM A131) | High tensile strength suitable for hull structures, offshore platforms, and heavy construction |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 355 MPa (Grade 36 series); ≥ 235 MPa (Grade A/B) | Minimum yield strength ensures structural integrity under static and dynamic loads |
| Elongation | ≥ 21% (longitudinal, 200 mm gauge length) | Adequate ductility to absorb impact energy and resist brittle fracture |
| Impact Toughness (Charpy) | AH36: 0°C ≥ 34 J; DH36: −20°C ≥ 34 J; EH36: −40°C ≥ 34 J | Low-temperature impact values per classification society requirements |
| Thickness Range | 5 mm – 150 mm | Wide thickness range covering thin deck plating to heavy keel and structural members |
| Width × Length | Width: 1,500 – 4,500 mm; Length: 3,000 – 18,000 mm | Custom cutting available; standard mill plates supplied in as-rolled or normalized condition |
| Surface Finish | As-rolled (AR), Normalized (N), TMCP, Shot-blasted Sa 2.5 | Surface treatment options available to meet coating and corrosion protection requirements |
| Application | Ship hulls, offshore structures, bridges, pressure vessels, heavy machinery, port facilities | |
| Certification | Mill Test Certificate (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2; Classification society certificates (LR, DNV-GL, ABS, BV, CCS, NK) | Third-party inspection and survey available upon request |
| Packaging | Bare / bundled with steel strips; rust-preventive oil coating; wooden dunnage for sea freight | Export seaworthy packaging compliant with ISPM 15 for wooden materials |
| MOQ | 25 MT per grade/thickness | Mixed grades accepted for full container or bulk vessel shipments; spot stock available |
We ordered 120 tonnes of A36 structural plates at 10 mm and 20 mm for an industrial warehouse project. The majority of the shipment was fine — dimensions accurate, MTRs in order per ASTM A36. However, two plates in the first delivery showed localised surface pitting that did not meet our as-rolled acceptance criteria. I raised this with the supplier and they arranged replacement plates within five business days at no additional cost and provided a written corrective action report. Issue is resolved and the replacements were perfect. Cautiously positive — response to the problem was professional.
