Initial surface issue on 304 hot-rolled bars – resolved satisfactorily
Ordered 2 tonnes of 304 equal angle bar, 50×50×6 mm, hot-rolled 2E finish, to AS/NZS equivalent of ASTM A276, for a rail infrastructure support frame in Queensland. On first inspection, approximately 8% of bars showed minor scale patches inconsistent with a standard 2E finish. I raised this immediately with the supplier. They arranged a replacement shipment of the affected pieces within 9 days at no additional freight cost and provided a revised MTC. The replacement material was fully compliant. Communication throughout was professional. Issue was isolated and resolution was prompt, so I would consider ordering again.
