First order of 316L stainless U channel, 70×35×4 mm, 1.2 tonnes for railway carriage interior framing. On arrival, we measured flange width variance of approximately 0.4 mm on roughly 8% of pieces — outside our EN 10088-3 tolerance requirement. Raised the issue immediately; supplier responded within 12 hours, acknowledged the deviation, and arranged replacement pieces at no additional cost within 10 days. Purchased 3 tonnes of 304 hot-rolled stainless U channel, 120×60×8 mm, No. 1 finish, for heavy structural support frames in a manufacturing facility. Mechanical properties — tensile strength above 515 MPa minimum — confirmed on MTRs per ASTM A276. Material performed as expected under load testing. Lead time was 21 days, slightly longer than quoted but within acceptable range for our project schedule. Pricing was fair for the volume.
