Initial coating weight inconsistency — resolved after escalation
Our first order of 30 tons of Z600 galvanized coils at 1.2mm for industrial facility cladding in Texas showed coating weight readings below the specified 85-micron minimum on three coils out of the shipment, based on our in-house XRF testing. We raised this with the supplier immediately. To their credit, they responded within 24 hours, arranged third-party verification, confirmed the discrepancy, and replaced the affected coils within 12 business days at no additional cost. MTCs for replacement material were fully compliant with ASTM A653. The issue was handled professionally. We have since placed a follow-up order and quality has been correct. Cautiously optimistic going forward.
