Aluzinc color coated coil is a pre-painted flat-rolled steel product in which a 55% Al-Zn alloy-coated substrate receives one or more layers of organic coating — typically polyester (PE), high-durability polyester (HDP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), or silicon modified polyester (SMP) — applied through a continuous coil coating process. The finished product combines the outstanding anti-corrosion properties of the aluzinc alloy layer with the decorative and weather-resistant performance of the paint film, delivering a ready-to-fabricate material that requires no further surface treatment on the production line.

Aluzinc Color Coated Coil Manufacturing Process

Production begins with cold-rolled or hot-dip aluzinc-coated steel coil as the base substrate. The strip undergoes alkaline degreasing, water rinsing, and chromate or chrome-free chemical conversion treatment to maximize paint adhesion. Primer and topcoat layers are then applied sequentially in a continuous roller-coat line and cured in high-temperature ovens at approximately 230–260 °C (peak metal temperature). A back coat is applied simultaneously to prevent corrosion on the reverse side. Finished coils are cooled, inspected, and rewound to customer-specified inner diameters of 508 mm or 610 mm.

Initial shipment had an edge wave issue — resolved satisfactorily

Our first order was 25 MT of 0.30 mm DX51D, AZ70, PE coated, 600 mm width for light appliance components. When the coils arrived, three of them had noticeable edge wave that caused feeding issues on our stamping line. Flagged this to the supplier with measurement data. They investigated, acknowledged the flatness deviation fell outside agreed tolerances, and arranged replacement coils within 10 days at no additional cost. Replacement coils were perfect. Paint adhesion and ASTM A755 compliance on all coils were fine throughout. Issue was resolved professionally, so we're willing to try a second order.

Competitive pricing on large volume — slight color variance on one coil

Ordered 95 MT of 0.40 mm AZ100 with SMP topcoat in RAL 9002 white, 1,250 mm width for a warehouse cladding project in Dubai. Overall very satisfied — mechanical properties met S280GD per EN 10346, and most coils had excellent color consistency. One coil showed a slight gloss variation (measured 28 GU vs. specified 30 GU). Raised the issue and supplier acknowledged it promptly, offering a partial credit. For the price point and volume flexibility, this is still strong value. Will consider for future projects with the understanding that pre-shipment inspection is advisable on large runs.

Good value for ASTM-compliant material — minor documentation delay

Purchased 35 MT of 0.55 mm DX53D, AZ150, PE topcoat (≥15 µm), 914 mm width for roll-forming operations in Texas. Product quality was solid — ASTM A755 compliance verified, salt spray test results included, and the polyester coating showed good formability with no cracking during our T-bend testing. Pricing was competitive for this spec. Only minor issue: the full test report package arrived two days after the goods, which caused a short customs delay.
